Gulf Harbour Cafe

Me and mummy went up to check out Gulf Harbour the other day, she is into sailing you see and hadn't been there for years.  When we got up there after pasting one of my most favourite beaches Red Beach which was such a bummer since I wanted to go swimming not go and look at boats.

Anyway we finally got there and there was nothing there one hair dresses which was busy and a restaurant that looked closed and it was like 11.30.  I was getting pretty hungry and thirsty by then so next to the restaurant was a cafe.  How handy I thought, not easily seen tucked around the corner.

We went and ordered a fluffy, soy latte in a glass, oh yes they didn't have glasses only cups for mummy maybe there didn't trust her drinking out of glass lol.  We went to get a muffin but they only had double chocolate which mum said was a little to much chocolate and there was a yukky looking slice thing, so we had nothing :(.

After paying $2.50 for a fluffy which is the most expensive anywhere we have been ever!, they are normally .50c or $1 or $1.50 max so I thought it was going to be really good for that money.

It finally came, I had to go for a walk in between waiting for it to come and watched the lady clean the sliding door track.  Anyway it came and was sheer disappointment the fluffy had no marshmallows and was o.k but nothing great but the fluffy did come in a big adult cup which makes for heavy lifting for me because I am only little.  Mum couldn't even drink her soy latte because the coffee was burnt.  So we left feeling hungry, mum thirsty and me with milk down my front.

This didn't hold me back though from having a great time running around and putting leaves into the marina, we couldn't see the boats much cause you need to live there to be able to walk around the path.

Cars DVD

Since I have already said I love cars, I also love the Cars Movie I have both of them.  There is really cool music in the movie too which I love to dance too and sing along with.  I would definitely add this one to your DVD collection. They have it at IQ Toys.

Whoop whoop for Lego!

I know this is nothing about cafes, but it is a suggestion on what cafes could get in to make the cafe that much cooler to go to.  For Christmas from my Uncle and Auntie I got some Lego the 2-5 years one and I really like it because it fits into my hands really good better than those really big blocks you can get.  Plus there is a cute dog woof woof, a little man and a car broom broom that you can build which I love.  The dog likes to eat my dinner though but that is when I don't want it anyway so I don't mind :).

I looked on the toy website and I like the look of these too

and this one because then you can build cars! I love cars ....

Pukeko Cafe and Function Centre, Henderson

I love going to Kiwi Valley Farm Park to see all the animals, I especially love feeding the ducks, they have lamas, goats, sheep, emu's, peacocks and heaps more.  Oh yes and I really really like holding the bunny rabbits there are black and white ones.  The tractor ride is the bestest too.
After I  had feed all the animals there lunch, mum and me went to the Pukeko Cafe next door to the farm park.  I was feeling pretty hungry by then so we ordered fries and tomato sauce, a fluffy and mum an apple juice.

The fluffy was nice and came with two marshmallow's, it had a lot of fluff and I would have liked a little more milk at the bottom and it was cold so nice but not great and it had a boring cup.  But I still did like it and finished it all.  I liked the apple juice too and mum put a straw in it which I always like.
The fries where really yummy, crisp and came with sauce and mayo plus a big bowl of them.  Mum and me went to check out the toys but they where really dirty and not very nice.  A $100 spent here especially when next to a children's farm park would do wonders and maybe a Wendy house to play in too oh with a table and chairs or those mini b/q tables.

Fries 5/5 *****
Cleanliness 3/5 *** just because the toys where so dirty

Kings Garden Cafe, Silverdale

Kings Plant Barn
Silverdale

Its been such beautiful weather over the last week and a half so mum decided she needed a few plants for the garden.  I loooove gardening the bestest bit is picking the strawberries but I do have to squirrel under the bird netting to get them which is fun, yummy yummy.  We are still waiting for the tomatoes because its been a very rainy summer mum said.
Anyway we went to the Kings Garden Cafe, Silverdale which is so cooool because it is a garden centre with a cafe at the back of it.  We went to the cafe first and I had my usual a fluffy, mum had an apple juice and I got a yoyo and mum got a muffin.  The muffin was really yummy, really big I had to use two hands to bite it (oh yes that was mummy's muffin, opps eee) and my yoyo was massive too, crumbly with passionfruit icing in the middle I took that home for later because I couldn't eat it all.
'.
The fluffy was disappointing and there was a marshmallow in the bottom, on theory this is a nice idea but since I drink them little my mummy drinks her coffee its abit of a choking hazard.  And the fluffy wasn't that great.  The wicker chair where great though, and it was very busy.

Afterwards I got to run around the garden centre, I especially love going over the bridge with the pond with the gold fish in it, we spent about 1/2 hour doing this.  Mum was a meany and said we had to go,  so I decided to do my supergirl and launch myself onto the bridge onto my tummy and cry for abit.  I find this technique works well and we stayed for another 10 minutes :).

Pizza Barn Waipu

Pizza Barn Waipu
2 Cove Road
Waipu
Whangarei

Me and mum stop here all the time and I just love it!! We always get the chips which come in a big bowl for around $6 with aioli and tomato sauce (my favourite).  The lady knows us there now and she is always lovely and she makes the best fluffys, so sometimes I have two. Mum sometimes get a mini pizza and she says they are really yummy, but I love my chips to much so I just have those.

There is an inside kids corner with really old typewriters, a chalk board and once upon a time Thomas the Tank Engine things but there are only a few bits left but I still like playing with these.  The kids corner is looking a bit sad and it would be great if they spent $100 and got some other toys in and had a cleaning session on the toys, I think they would get there money back big time.

There is an outside area but I have never been in. There are high chairs as well but I sit on the big chairs now.  Even though the kids area is good but not great I still love going, and it is great for families with having beautiful big rustic looking tables and an outdoor area with tables.

Dragon's Rest Cafe

Dragon's Rest Cafe

Me and mum stopped at this cool cafe on a road trip north.  I was starting to feel quite thirsty and I hadn't had a fluffy aaallll day, not that I get one every day but on road trips we always stopped.  I think mum might had forgotten so I decided to do my usual trick of starting to grumble, and wriggle then squark abit.  It seems to do the trick everytime, so we pulled into this place where I had never been before.
It was a really nice looking old house, I knocked at the door as I always do to see if anyone was in and mum opened it. Inside there where wooden floors, two rooms, a deck outside and at the front of the house I noticed a massive playing area with lots of running around space and picnic like tables.  There where a few people at tables, I said Hi Ya to them all.

I ordered my usual and mum got a soy flat white, there wasn't many cakes actually I can't rememeber any apart from muffins and scones.  So we got a muffin, banana and kiwifruit.

The fluffies where the bestest I had, with a groovy looking cup (I got two fluffies yum yum) one came in a green cup and one in my favourite colour orange cup.  There where marshmellow not that i got to see them plus I think it was milo on top sooooo yummy with milo topping yum yum yum!!!!  The fluffy was a nice size  not to big and not to small just like those bears in that story.
